Depth Conversion
Methods
& Pitfalls

This is a 5 day classroom based course for practicing seismic interpreters tasked with creating depth maps for volumetrics and well planning. Time is split equally between teaching and exercises which are designed to illuminate concepts and cement understanding through hands-on application. The course incidentally provides attendees with a geophysics refresher, mapping and interpretation tips and several efficiency enhancing spreadsheets to take away.

The course is provided through the Nautilus training organisation, and members of their Global Training Alliance (GTA) should contact Nautilus directly in order to book places, or to arrange in-house training.

Oil companies or service companies who are not members of Nautilus’ GTA but who are interested in running the course in-house should contact Alan Atkinson, the course creator and presenter.

Depth Conversion Methods
& Petrel Workflows

This course covers all the theory from ‘Depth Conversion Methods & Pitfalls’, but the exercises and workflows discussed are implemented in Petrel. How Petrel manages velocity data and implements depth conversion is revealed, and all workflows described are documented in a detailed 200 page Petrel Workflows manual.
